Saenz captures the emotions of a developing teenage boy in a beautiful and quiet way. Not through flashy action scenes or long monologues of what is going on inside his head, but through a few sentences or an exchange of looks between friends.
All the characters, and the relationships between them, are so real that I want to know what is happening in their lives now, beyond what I got a glimpse of by reading the book.
If you are looking for a touching, humorous, passionate, painful, heart-warming book, I highly recommend "Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe".
